Have you seen the TV show Pineapple Studios? Check it out before going any further http://starmanofficial.com/
You've got to admire Andrew Stone's passion but that's where it ends for me. Props to him for giving pop stardom his best shot but the deep irony of calling yourself 'Starman' and then playing small clubs for the bulk of your existence is nothing short of sad.
It would have been so much better if the name of his group was something different like: Spanktime, Small Time Club Band, or E.S.D. (Extreme Self-Delusion). At least then the audience would know what they were getting: a deluded self-masturbatory performance of epic proportions in a venue the size of Thumbalina's ear hole. Not an unjustified over-inflated ego that threatens to suffocate anyone in its path.
I'm sorry Andrew. I wish I could be kinder but it's time someone curbed your enthusiasm just a little bit. Surely you've noticed that the TV show is taking the piss out of you. They treat you like a laughing stock. But, any publicity's good publicity right?
Wrong. You seem like a nice guy. A genuinely passionate and somewhat talented performer. But it's cringe-worthy watching your band and your limp-wristed manager trying to make the big time. The petty arguments and your inability to take good advice is holding you back from what you really want. Everyone around you is trying to help you wake up but none of them have the balls to say it to you. And someone should ... because your career (and it's integrity ... what is left of it) depends on it.
So take this for what it is, a reality check. I look forward to you thanking me later. In the meantime, David Bowie is doing just fine without you.
